The Story:

New York, 1990. Facing open-heart surgery, Sala Garncarz Kirschner, a Holocaust survivor, gave her daughter Ann a cache of letters she'd received while imprisoned in seven Nazi slave labor camps. In sharing these letters she broke fifty years of secrecy and silence.
